  India's longest drive-in beach and the signature route here — local laws permit you to drive your own vehicle directly on about 3.4 km of firm, packed sand along the Malabar shoreline. This is public, self-driven access, not a booked activity. A line of black rocks on the seaward edge keeps the sand hard enough for smooth driving. Stay on the marked firm stretch; keep off soft sand near the water and the rocks, which can trap a vehicle. Confirm current permitted driving hours and stretch locally.

  Closure: Kerala's monsoon (roughly June–September) softens the sand and makes driving inadvisable; winter (November–February) gives the firmest conditions.
