Chanshal Pass (~3,749 m / 12,300 ft) is a high, remote crossing above Rohru in Shimla district that carries the road toward the isolated Dodra-Kwar valley - among the highest motorable points in the Shimla region. The drive climbs through apple country and alpine meadows to a broad, windswept saddle with long Himalayan views, on a rough, largely unbarriered mountain road.
